Easiest sponge cake recipe.

Image
Hey guys, so last thursday I made a sponge cake for the first time in my life and surprisingly(because everyone says it's one of the most difficult cakes to get right) it turned out soo perfect. It was spongy and airy and perfectly flat on top :D (a bakers dream right?) Here's the recipe and precautions that I used under my mother in law's guidance :D Ingredients: (for the cake) 3 eggs 1/2cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup flour 1/3rd tea spoon baking powder Recipe: Preheat your oven to 350F. Beat your eggs for one minute with an electric beater at high speed. Add the granulated sugar and beat at high speed until the eggs are fluffy (You'l know it's done when you take out the whisk, the soft peak stays for atleast 10 seconds) This is really important because this is what makes your cake spongy. Add your flour and fold it in using a spoon or spatula until its incorporated taking care that you don't knock out the air from the eggs. Put the mixture

DIY: Crib canopy

I've always wanted to give my daughter a princess bed. Although a full Princess makeover might not be in the plans right now, I can always give her a little one :) Disclaimer: this is the easiest way possible that I could find. You can opt to use a curtain on a hula hoop, that would give you more flare but it would also add to the cost and hula hoops are usually a little big for cribs. Things you need: Preferably a see through cloth of whatever colour you like. I got pink and this is mixed cotton because I couldn't find silk or net at my nearest craft store. Measure how tall you want the canopy to be from the floor and get the cloth in that length. Embroidery hoop  Fake flowers  twinkle lights scissors safety pins or you can sew if you want.  ribbon. a string. (Fish lines are better because they're invisible and strong.) How to make it.  I tried with two strings first and added a third one later.  1. Find the centre of the cloth's length

Spicy Chicken Salad

I started following a diet plan about 2 weeks ago since It's high time I loose the 10 extra kg I gained when I had my daughter. This diet consisted of eating salads everyday for lunch and as usual the first week was easy because I was really ambitious but by the mid of the second week I was losing my will to fight against making pasta or getting a burger or a pizza and I realised its because the salads I was making were not appealing to my appetite. That's when I realised I have to find recipes that will make me want to eat a salad everyday and I came up with this one. It's a really easy 15 min recipe, low in carbs, full of protein, keeps you full for longer and is really good to your taste buds :D so without further delay let's make my SPICY CHICKEN SALAD :D INGREDIENTS For the chicken: 1 tsp of olive oil 1/3rd of Breast piece (cut into bite sized pieces) 2 tbsp tomato puree 1/2 tsp paprika/red pepper crushed  salt to taste 1 tsp sesame seeds (optio

Apartment makeover: Corridor makeover Part 1

Image
Hey guys, How are you all? Do you guys remember this picture from my first post in this series? My apartment has a long corridor running through the length of it which means allot of empty walls with no furniture or anything on them.  I'm attaching this hand made plan of my apartment to make it easier.  the yellow highlighted portion is the corridor. Since it is pretty long, I'm dividing the post into two and doing only half of  the corridor right now. Although you can't see this wall when you enter because the door opens against this wall but it is the last thing you see when you leave my apartment :D So I'm thinking of changing the home sweet home print in here to something more appropriate. I would love to get your suggestions. The first wall you see when you enter the house is this one. This Bismillah was the first thing I painted after we shifted because God bless my grandmother she kept pressing me to put some ALLAH ka
